ballet and DANCE CLASSES FOR
11+ YEAR OLDS
Our classes are specifically designed to develop real classical ballet technique to prepare our students for success in all dance styles.
Welcome to Ballet, Acro, Street and Commercial, and Musical Theatre classes for 11+ year olds.
This cohort is called the Intermediate Level.
Typically, students dance in this level starting from Grade 3, all the way through to the most advanced vocational exams offered by
BBODance.
On a Saturday and a Tuesday, we offer a 1 hour ballet class following the bbodance classical ballet syllabi. This class is designed to refine our students understanding and application of real classical technique, which translates to all dance styles.
On a Saturday we offer a 1 hour Musical Theatre Class. This class is designed for aspiring musical theatre and dance students and performers.
On a Saturday, we offer a 1 hour class that comprises of Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Choreography & Performance, on an alternating basis. This class is designed to excel our students in becoming versatile performers, who at this point have a solid foundation in classical technique, and can easily succeed in these other styles.
On a Monday evening we offer Street and Commercial with Tap Classes at an Intermediate/Improver's Level.
On a Tuesday evening we offer
Acro Dance Classes
at an Intermediate/Improver's Level. This 1 hour class is designed to accommodate the expectations of the aspiring student.
Intermediate Ballet Classes for
11+ year olds
Saturday afternoon's- 14.45-15.45pm
Tuesday evening's - 19.30-20.30pm
In this 1 hour class, our students are taught how to perform an extensive range of dance vocabulary with technical precision and command, which translates through to all styles of dance. In equal measure, our Intermediate Level students learn to perform to a range of musical tempos and rhythms with sustained focus, and develop artistic and expressive qualities in dance performance.
At SBS our Intermediate Level students continue to develop their knowledge of French ballet terminology and are thoroughly prepared for the verbal responses to the theory questions for their Graded Examinations.

Saturday afternoon's-
16.00-17.00pm
In this 1 hour class, our Intermediate Level students continue to master the techniques of different genres and styles on an alternating basis, further developing their physical, technical, and artistic skills. These styles allow our Intermediate Level students to deepen their understanding and application of musicality and transform how they attack movement rhythmically and dynamically. Our Intermediate Level students build more strength and stamina and realise their own physicality.
